5. Nylon 66 (PA66)
Polyamide66 or Nylon6; PA66 for short; Nylon 66, also known as polyamide 66, is polyadipylhexanediamine. Molecular Structural Formula:
Compared with nylon 6, its mechanical strength, stiffness, heat resistance and wear resistance, creep resistance is better, but the impact strength and mechanical shock absorption performance are reduced. It has a wide range of applications in automobiles, drones, electronic and electrical, etc.
6. Clear nylon (semi-aromatic nylon)
English name: polytrimethyl hexamethylene terephthalamide; transparent polyamide resin; Transparent nylon is an amorphous polyamide, chemical name: polyterephthaloyltrimethylhexanediamine. Its molecular formula is:
The transmittance of visible light is 85%~90%. It inhibits the crystallization of nylon by adding components with copolymerization and stereoscopic obstacles to the nylon component, thereby producing an amorphous and difficult-to-crystallize structure, which maintains the original strength and toughness of nylon and obtains transparent thick-walled products. The mechanical properties, electrical properties, mechanical strength and rigidity of transparent nylon are almost at the same level as PC and polysulfone.
7. Nylon 6T (PA6T)
Polyamide6T or Nylon6T; Abbreviated as PA6T. Nylon 6T, also known as polyamide 6T, is polyterephthalylhexanediamine.
Its outstanding features are high temperature resistance (melting point of 370 °C, glass transition temperature of 180 °C, can be used for a long time at 200 °C), high strength, dimensional stability, good soldering resistance, making PA6T particularly suitable for electronic connectors for adhesive technology (SMT). Mainly used in automotive parts, oil pump covers, air filters, heat-resistant electrical parts such as wire harness wiring panels, fuses, etc.
8. Nylon MXD6
Nylon-MXD6 is the generic name for a wide range of polyamides produced by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Corporation from M-XYLENEDIAMINE (MXDA). It is a crystalline polyamide produced by polycondensation of isophthalamine MXDA with adipic acid. Unlike nylon 6 and nylon 66, nylon MXD6 is an aliphatic polyamide that contains an aromatic ring in its backbone. The chemical structure is as follows:
Compared with nylon 6 and nylon 66, nylon MXD6 has the following good characteristics:
1. Greater strength and modulus of elasticity;
2. High glass transition temperature;
3. Low water absorption and moisture permeability;
4. Good crystallization speed and easy molding and manufacturing;
5. Good gas barrier performance.
These characteristics have led to many different applications for nylon-MXD6 as a packaging and molding material, as well as the production of monofilament.
Nylon-MXD6 is an excellent gas barrier to oxygen and carbon dioxide quality. Under certain conditions, its gas-resistance ratio is higher than that of copolymer resins, such as ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), vinylidene chloride (PVDC) and acrylnitrile (pan).
The molding specifications of nylon-MXD6 meet the molding standards of other materials. This means that nylon MXD6 can be co-injection molded and co-extruded to produce laminated containers, bottles and packing sheets using polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE).
9. Nylon 610 (PA610)
English name: Poly[imino-1,6-hexanediylimino(1,10-dioxo-1,10-decanediyl)]; Polyamide 610; Nylon 610; PA610 for short. Nylon 610, also known as polyamide 610, is polysunadiylhexanediamine. Molecular Structural Formula:
Translucent creamy white. Its strength is between nylon 6 and nylon 66. Small specific gravity, low crystallinity, low water absorption, good dimensional stability, good wear resistance, self-extinguishing. Used in precision plastic accessories, oil pipelines, containers, ropes, conveyor belts, bearings, textile machinery parts, electrical and electronic insulation materials and instrument shells, etc.
10. Nylon 612 (PA612)
English name: Polyhexamethylene dodecanamide; Polyamide 612; Nylon 612; PA612 for short. Nylon 612, also known as polyamide 612, that is, polydodecanoylhexanediamine. The molecular structural formula is:
Nylon 612 is a kind of nylon with good toughness, smaller density than 610, extremely low water absorption, excellent wear resistance, small molding shrinkage, excellent hydrolysis resistance and dimensional stability. The most important use is to make monofilament and cable wrapping for high-end toothbrushes.
11. Nylon 9T (PA9T)

Its outstanding features are: small water absorption, water absorption rate of 0.17%; Good heat resistance (melting point of 308 °C, glass transition temperature of 126 °C), its welding temperature is as high as 290 °C. Mainly used in electronics, electrical appliances, information equipment and automotive parts.
12. Nylon 10T (PA10T)

Its main features are very low moisture absorption, high temperature resistance, excellent toughness, rigidity and dimensional stability, good fluidity and processing performance, easy coloring, high strength of welding fusion line, melting point up to 300~316 °C, density of 1.42g/cm3. PA10T has a benzene ring and a long diamine flexible long chain, which makes the macromolecules have a certain degree of compliance, so as to have a high crystallization rate and crystallinity, which is suitable for rapid prototyping. Widely used in LED reflection bracket, motor end cover, brush bracket, gear, etc.
13. Nylon 1010 (PA1010)
English name: Polyamide1010; Nylon1010; Abbreviated as PA1010. Nylon 1010, also known as polyamide 1010, that is, polysunadiyl sunflowerdiamine. Molecular Structural Formula:
Nylon 1010 is made from castor oil as the basic raw material, which was first successfully developed and industrialized by Shanghai celluloid factory in China. Its biggest feature is that it has high ductility, can be drawn to 3~4 times the original length, and high tensile strength, excellent impact and low temperature, not brittle at -60 °C, and has excellent wear resistance, ultra-high toughness and good oil resistance, widely used in aerospace, cable, optical cable, metal or cable surface coating.
14. Nylon 11 (PA11)
Polyamide11 or Nylon11; Abbreviated as PA11. Nylon 11, also known as polyamide 11, that is, polyundecalactam. The molecular structural formula is:
It is white translucent. Its outstanding features are low melting temperature and wide processing temperature, low water absorption, good low temperature performance, and good flexibility that can be maintained at -40 °C ~ 120 °C. Mainly used in automobile oil pipelines, brake system hoses, optical fiber cable coating, packaging film, daily necessities, etc.
15. Nylon 12 (PA12)
English name: Polyamide12 or Nylon12; Abbreviated as PA12. Nylon 12, also known as polyamide 12, that is, polydodecamide. The molecular structural formula is:
It is similar to nylon 11, but its density, melting point and water absorption are lower than nylon-11. Due to its large amount of flexibilizer, it has the properties of combining polyamide and polyolefin. Its outstanding features are high decomposition temperature, low water absorption, and excellent low temperature resistance. Mainly used in automobile oil pipelines, instrument panels, accelerator pedals, brake hoses, muffling parts of electronic appliances, cable sheaths.
16. Nylon 1212 (PA1212)
English name: Polyamide 1212; Nylon1212; Abbreviated as PA1212. It is obtained by polycondensation of dodecadiamine and dodecanoic acid. Its molecular formula is:
PA1212 has the lowest water absorption rate in nylon, good dimensional stability, oil resistance, alkali resistance, good wear resistance, chemical resistance, good transparency, and excellent toughness at low temperatures. Widely used in aerospace, automobile, textile, instrumentation, medical equipment, etc.
17. Nylon 1313 (Aramid 1313)
English name: Polyamide1313; Nomex; Nylon1313; Abbreviated as PA1313. Sophthaloyl chloride and m-phenylenediamine are obtained by polycondensation of monomers, and their molecular structure formula is:
Nomex has much higher mechanical properties and heat resistance than aliphatic PA (as a fiber fabric, the life is 8 times that of aliphatic PA fiber cloth and 20 times that of cotton cloth), good heat aging resistance (after 250°C after 2000h heat aging, the surface resistivity and volume resistance remain unchanged), and can still maintain good electrical properties in higher temperature or humid environments. It is mainly used for H-class electrical insulation materials and the preparation of high-performance fibers (HT-1 fibers).
18. Nylon 1414 (PA1414)
